I've reached a point in looking at the human project it terms of its major component sub-systems that I need to at least record a candidate set of skeptical labels which might be used to identify those components while separating them from their self-justifying rhetoric. The number is intended to be roughly comparable to the top level sub-systems you might identify in an analysis of something with much greater historical validation, such as a mammalian body. There is doubtless more interdependence within my list below, but its main aim is to provide a set of buckets within which almost every human activity can be placed.

For now I'm deliberately omitting the very short mappings I have listed offline which translate these into more familiar terminology, but they have been tested against alternate categorisations such as government ministries. The real reason for this omission is that they each cry out for a paragraph of explanation and there are too many other demands on time to try to rush that.

  • Cell padding
  • Circus on demand
  • Consumer treadmill
  • Do what I say
  • Enemy manufacture
  • Energy dependency
  • Knowledge minimisation
  • Mortality exploitation
  • Mostly noise
  • Nature hiding
  • Obfuscation of place
  • Organised paternalism
  • Stretching thin elastic
  • Taste homogenisation
  • Unnatural substances
  • Youth containment
